In its fourth year, Town Talks with the Mayor invites residents to stay connect through quarterly updates on topics impacting the Danville community. Community members can participate in the quarterly, live stream broadcast via Facebook and YouTube. The program is intended to provide away for residents to connect with their community leaders and get up-to-the-minute information on the issues and topics important to Danville.

The livestream of the event can be viewed at the Town's Facebook page and YouTube channel.

    May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and in this month’s Town Talks installment, Danville Mayor Newell Arnerich discusses mental health, how access to mental health resources is improving and how the community can access mental health resources in Danville and locally.

    Danville Mayor Renee Morgan chats with two inspirational Danville athletes, Maggie Steffens and Jason Caldwell, who have had a phenomenal 2021. Three-time Olympic gold medal winner Maggie Steffens achieved her third gold medal for water polo in the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo this year. Ocean rower, Jason Caldwell, finished a four-man row from California to Hawaii, beating the previous record by nine days. Maggie Steffens played water polo at Monte Vista High School. She achieved her first gold medal for water polo in 2012 at the Olympics in London, her second gold medal in Rio in 2016 then soared to further success at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo earlier this year, winning her third Olympic gold medal and also setting a new Olympic record in the most number of goals scored by a female water player over the course of their athletic career competing at the Olympic Games. World record holder and Danville resident, Jason Caldwell, set a world record for the fastest four-person team to ever row across the Atlantic Ocean, 35 days, 14 hours, 3 minutes. This summer, Caldwell broke another Guinness World Record for crossing the Mid-Pacific in 30 days, 7 hours, and 30 minutes.

    Murder, mystery, and DNA! In this month’s Town Talks installment, Danville Mayor Renee Morgan chatted with the former cold-case investigator, writer, and podcaster, Paul Holes about the Golden State Killer case that Holes helped solve using advancements in DNA profiling and genealogy technology. Paul Holes was an investigator for the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office in Martinez, California. Holes’ contributions led to the arrest of the Golden State Killer, the first public arrest obtained through genetic genealogy. Recently Holes launched a true-crime podcast called The Murder Squad that explores evidence and discussions of current unsolved murders, unidentified remains, and missing persons cases.

    On the August 6 episode of Town Talks with the Mayor, Mayor Renee Morgan discusses the increasingly sophisticated threat of digital fraud and how to protect yourself from becoming a victim. Among the guests joining the Mayor on August 6, will be Sid Patel, Assistant Special Agent in Charge for FBI San Francisco, Dave Mathers, Senior Inspector for Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office, and Clancy Priest, Town of Danville’s Chief Technology Officer. Find out about elder scams, romance scams, and phishing scams. The discussion will also include what to look out for, and most importantly how you can protect yourself and vulnerable friends and family from becoming victims of fraud.
