Work Along Diablo Road Begins March 3

The Town is preparing for construction of the Diablo Road Trail. As the construction plan is finalized, crews will begin clearing the project area. Beginning Monday, March 3, some trees will be removed along Diablo Road, which may cause traffic disruption along the Diablo Road corridor near the Diablo community, between Fairway Drive and Alameda Diablo (see map). The Diablo Road Trail Project is aimed at enhancing safety and access for pedestrians and cyclists, and tree removal to make way for the trail will impact daily traffic in the area for 1-3 weeks. I’d appreciate it if you could share this information with your community so they can plan for potential disruptions to their commute

Project Details:

  • Project Name: Diablo Road Trail Project (C-055)
  • Location: Diablo Road between Fairway Drive and Alameda Diablo, Town of Danville (see attached map)
  • Start Date & Duration: Work is scheduled to begin Monday, March 3, 2025, and is expected to last 1–3 weeks. We anticipate completion by March 7, 2025, with a firm end date no later than March 20, 2025.
  • Work Hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, to reduce interference with school bell schedules.
  • Traffic Notification: Lighted message signs will be placed at two locations along Diablo Road starting one week prior to March 3 to alert drivers of the upcoming project and potential traffic changes.
  • Traffic Impact: Expect occasional delays or lane adjustments during work hours. Only one lane is expected to be closed when necessary to minimize disruption.

We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work to improve the corridor. Our goal is to keep disruptions to school operations and daily routines as minimal as possible.
