Update October 14, 2025

The Town of Danville is launching a capital improvement project along Diablo Road starting next week.

The Diablo Road Pedestrian Trail and Drainage Improvements Project (CIP No. C-055) includes tree removal, minor regrading, a new pedestrian/cycle trail, hot mix asphalt installation, drainage upgrades, traffic control, tree replanting, wildlife exclusion, and cattle fencing. Please share this with your community to prepare for potential commute disruptions.

Project Details:

  • Name: Diablo Road Pedestrian Trail and Drainage Improvements Project, CIP No. C-055
  • Location: Diablo Road, from Fairway Drive to an access road approximately 400 feet west of Avenida Nueva
  • Start Date & Duration: Begins October 20, 2025, with completion expected by December 2026 (paused during rainy winter months)
  • Work Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., subject to adjustment

Traffic Impact:

  • When road closures are required, traffic will be reduced to one-way with flaggers and signs at both ends, scheduled between 9:00 AM and 2:30 PM (30 minutes after school starts and before it ends) to avoid school commute conflicts.
  • Expect delays; consider alternate routes.
  • Traffic will be managed with signs, flaggers, and control devices, with construction zones marked by barricades.
  • Changeable message boards will be posted 72 hours prior to workdays.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we improve this corridor. For questions, contact Development Services at devserv@danville.ca.gov or (925) 314-3310.
