October Construction Updates

Construction on the Diablo Road Multi-Use Trail continues to move forward on schedule, with crews making progress on the infrastructure improvements and preparation for the new trail.
The major retaining walls and work within Green Valley Creek are now complete. Crews are focusing on the area between the creek and Diablo Road, installing drainage, preparing the trail foundation and paving the new path. Remaining work also includes installing guardrails along the roadway and handrails along the trail.
As construction continues, traffic control and lane closures on Diablo Road will remain necessary, likely through November, weather permitting. The closures will continue in the same location, with the same hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
While there may be occasional days when lane closures are not needed, much of the remaining work requires large trucks and heavy equipment operating along the roadway. Traffic control is necessary to provide a safe working area for crews and motorists.
We understand the continued traffic impacts are frustrating, especially for those who travel Diablo Road regularly. We appreciate the community's patience as crews work to complete this important project.
We'll continue sharing updates on construction progress and any changes to anticipated traffic impacts as more information becomes available.
