Construction Resumes on Diablo Road Multi-Use Trail

Construction on the Diablo Road Multi-Use Trail Project resumed March 2 following the winter break. The next phase of work begins with tree removal, scheduled Monday, March 9 through Friday, March 27 (weather permitting), which will result in intermittent traffic impacts on Diablo Road between Clydesdale Drive and Avenida Nueva.

Work will take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with traffic controls/road closures limited to 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Limited Saturday work may occur. Drivers should expect intermittent one-way traffic control in the work zone. On Saturday, March 14, there will be brief full closures between Clydesdale Drive and Fairway Drive to remove overhanging trees, with each closure expected to last about 20 minutes.

Traffic control will include flaggers, signage, and advance notification boards. Motorists should plan for delays, use caution, and consider alternate routes when possible.

Construction is expected to continue in phases through December 2026, and additional advisories will be shared as work progresses.
