The Town of Danville is continuing its commitment to investing in community spaces that bring people together with major renovations to the playground at Danville South Park. This improvement project is part of the Town’s ongoing efforts to enhance parks and recreation amenities so residents of all ages can enjoy safe, vibrant places to play, gather, and connect.
Construction is anticipated to begin as early as Wednesday, January 14, and the project is expected to be completed by Spring 2026. During construction, the playground area will be temporarily closed to ensure the safety of park visitors and work crews. All other areas of Danville South Park will remain open to the public. The Town appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation as this exciting transformation takes shape.
Once complete this spring, the redesigned playground will offer a refreshed and engaging experience for children and families. The updated space will include a primary play structure designed to support a variety of play styles, along with several secondary elements that encourage movement and exploration. New features will provide active play opportunities such as climbing, balancing, spinning, and swinging, welcoming a wide range of ages and abilities.
The project also includes a relocated sand play area, creating additional space for imaginative and hands-on play.
Through this project, the Town continues to invest in parks and recreation infrastructure to ensure Danville remains a safe, welcoming, and family-friendly community today and into the future.
