From Concept to Construction: A Conversation with Development Services Director Diane Friedmann

In this episode of Town Talks with the Mayor, Mayor Newell Arnerich sits down with Diane Friedmann, Director of Development Services for the Town of Danville, to talk about several major construction and infrastructure projects taking shape across Town.

The conversation takes a closer look at the Diablo Road Multi-Use Trail, the new Maker Space and Town Green Pavilion, and the Smart Signals program. Diane explains how projects like these move from an idea to construction, including how funding is secured, how priorities are established, and the public process that helps shape each project.

Mayor Arnerich and Diane also discuss the coordination involved in working with regional and partner agencies, along with the care taken to design and build projects in ways that respect Danville’s natural setting and surrounding habitats.

Listeners will also hear some local history along the way, including the interesting story behind how the Barbara Hale Trail got its name.
